Countertops

Ever wonder what to do when changing out countertops? Do you go with Granite? Quartz? Quartzite? Marble? Solid surface/cultured marble? Laminate? There are so many options!!! You really need to consider a few things before making that sort of an investment. First thing to consider is home value and whether you plan on selling in the near future or if this is your forever home. Will this sort of investment be a benefit to you? How much maintenance do you want to do with your new countertops? My go-to countertop material is quartz. The reason for that, is that it is extremely durable, non-porous, antimicrobial and does not require regular maintenance as a natural stone, such as granite or marble would. Quartz is a man-made material comprised of about 90% quartz and 8-10% resin. The movement in a quartz is also very predictable, so if you want that nice seamless and consistent look, quartz is the way to go! Cost comparison between quartz and granite is very close/comparable. For a quick reno/facelift in a bathroom or kitchen, a laminate would be the most affordable option, but not the greatest as far as durability, stain and heat resistance. There is so much more that goes into finding the perfect countertop for your new remodel, so always be sure to ask a professional to help you with those decisions! It can save you tons of money in the long run. Happy Designing!!!
