Bathroom Hardware
Let us talk about bathroom hardware: toilet paper holders, towel rings and towel bars. Believe it or not, there are guidelines that say where you should install these items. I have seen, on many occasions, where towel bars are installed entirely too high or toilet paper holders too far behind the toilet. These items should always be positioned in a way that is ergonomically correct. So, here we go: General rule-of-thumb... best place to install your toilet paper holder is approximately 8-12" from the front edge of your toilet at about 26" from the floor. For towel rings, they should be conveniently located. Typically, placement for those are around 50-52" from the floor. The towel should hang freely and not brush against your vanity. Towel bars are usually around 42-48" and in some cases you can go as high as 50" from the floor. Robe hooks are 60-70" from the floor. These guidelines should help when replacing old bathroom hardware with new ones! Happy Designing!
